    Getting ready to install

Getting ready to install, originally uploaded by Powerhouse Museum.

There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes at the Museum and installing an exhibition is an extremely busy event that the public doesn’t get to see. This image shows one of our conservators cleaning a display case for the exhibition The Great Wall of China: dynasties, dragons and warriors that was held in 2006. The Museum photographers document the installation of most exhibitions and this is a great opportunity not only to document how an exhibition is constructed but also provides an occasion to get some quirky shots too.
