How do artists who work primarily with clay, a material stigmatized by technique and process, go beyond this stereotype to express concepts? “Crafting Content: Ceramic Symposium 2008,” a three-day symposium to be held at the University of Arkansas, January 31 – February 2, 2008, seeks to answer this question and more.

A three day symposium includes an invitational exhibition, juried exhibition, panel discussion and lectures by visiting artists and critics. Participants include Tanya Batura, David East, Jeannie Hulen, Nicholas Kripal, John Perreault, Jeanne Quinn, and Benjamin Schulman.
