This new exhibition in the People’s Gallery examines daily prison life and procedures through the eyes of people living in North East prisons today.

Using photographs, stories and personal items, HMP & Me reflects the everyday routine people follow in prison, exploring emotional responses to varying institutional living environments.

Working closely with prisoners in the North East, this exhibition was created through three individual outreach projects. Each project sought to prepare prisoners for re-entry into the community once released from prison.
